The Call to Be Ready
Scripture Reading: Luke 12:39-40 (KJV)
"And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through. Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not."
Devotional:
In life, we prepare for many events, but the coming of Jesus is an event for which we cannot afford to be unprepared. Just like homeowners must be vigilant against potential break-ins, we are reminded to live with constant spiritual vigilance. This readiness isn't just about end times but about daily aligning our lives with His will.
Reflection:
Consider the areas of your life where you need to be more spiritually vigilant. What distractions are preventing you from listening for the 'trumpet'?
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, grant me the grace to be ever watchful and ready for Your coming. Help me to live each day with purpose and in alignment with Your will.
