Scripture Reading: Matthew 6:19-21 KJV

“Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:
But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”

Devotional

The rich man in Luke 12 stored up goods for himself, planning to take ease and enjoy life. But God said, “Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee.” He had prepared for earth but not for eternity.

Money is never just about money. It reveals the heart. What we do with what God has entrusted to us shows whether we believe it truly belongs to Him.

If you had twelve hours left to live, your bank account, possessions, and plans would suddenly seem very small. You would want to know that you had obeyed God, honored Him, cared for your responsibilities, and not left behind unnecessary burdens for others.

The question is not only, “How much do I have?” but “Am I faithful with what God has given me?”

Reflection

Does your use of money show that God is first in your life?

Prayer

Lord, everything I have belongs to You. Forgive me for selfishness, greed, and careless stewardship. Teach me to honor You with my finances, my possessions, and my priorities. Help me lay up treasure in heaven. Amen.

Action

Review your giving, spending, and debts. Ask: “Does this honor God?” Make one practical change this week to put God first in your stewardship.
