Scripture Reading: Luke 19:8-10 KJV

“And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor;
and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold.
And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house…
For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.”

Devotional

When Zacchaeus met Jesus, his life changed immediately. He did not merely say he was different—he showed it. His salvation produced repentance, restitution, and a desire to make wrong things right.

If you had twelve hours left to live, you would likely begin thinking about unresolved matters. Is there someone you have wronged? Someone you have spoken against? Someone you need to forgive? Someone from whom you need to ask forgiveness?

True salvation changes the inside, and that change begins to show on the outside. A believer should not be content to leave behind a trail of bitterness, dishonesty, gossip, or unresolved sin.

Restitution may not always look the same for every person, but the principle remains: when God shows us wrong, we should seek to make it right.

Reflection

Is there someone you need to contact, apologize to, repay, forgive, or make peace with?

Prayer

Father, search my heart. Show me where I have sinned against others. Give me humility to confess, courage to make things right, and grace to forgive as You have forgiven me. Amen.

Action

Write down one relationship or situation that needs attention. Take one step today toward making it right; send a message, make a call, pray, confess, repay, or forgive.
