“If ye love me, keep my commandments.”
Love for Jesus is more than words. Jesus said, “If ye love me, keep my commandments.” Obedience does not earn His love, but it proves ours.
It is easy to say, “Lord, I love Thee.” But love becomes real in daily life: when we forgive instead of retaliate, speak kindly instead of harshly, serve instead of complain, give instead of hoard, and witness instead of remain silent.
Love is not weak. Love held Jesus to the cross. Love caused Him to suffer, bleed, and die for sinners. His love was not merely spoken; it was shown.
Now He calls us to love Him in return—not with empty emotion, but with surrendered lives.
If we serve God, what pleases us will begin to please God. Our desires will change. Our priorities will shift. Our hearts will become more like His.
So today, hear the question again: “Do you love Me?”
May our answer be more than words. May our lives say, “Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee.”
Does your obedience show that you love Jesus? What area of your life needs to better reflect your answer?
Lord, I do love Thee, but I know my love is imperfect. Help me love Thee in deed and truth. Let my obedience, speech, attitude, and service show that I belong to Thee. Amen.
Before making decisions today, pause and ask: “Will this please Jesus?” Then choose accordingly.
