God Is Our Power

Devotional
Many believers live as though they must move the heavy stones of life alone. We push, strain, struggle, and finally sit down exhausted, saying, “I can’t do it.” But often we have not truly asked for the Father’s help.

God’s power is not lacking. The problem is not availability; the problem is often access and surrender. We try to operate in our own strength instead of being “strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.”

God’s power is seen in creation. It is seen in salvation. It is seen in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is seen in the strength He gives His people. But God’s power is not given for pride, control, or personal glory. It is given for His will, His work, and His honor.

Without Christ, we can do nothing. But through Him, we can obey, endure, serve, forgive, witness, and stand.

Reflection
Where are you trying to accomplish God’s work in your own strength? Have you asked Him for help?

Prayer
God, I confess that I am weak without You. Thank You that Your strength is greater than my weakness. Help me stop striving in my own power and teach me to rely on Yours. Use me for Your glory, not mine. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Action
Before beginning a task today—especially one that feels difficult—pause and pray: “Lord, I need Your strength. Help me do this Your way.”
