Scripture Reading: Luke 9:23 KJV

“And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.”

Devotional

Following Jesus is not always easy. Jesus never promised a road without trials. He said discipleship requires self-denial, a cross, and daily obedience.

Peter would eventually learn that loving Jesus would cost him. But love is strong enough to endure sacrifice. True love keeps serving when it is hard. It keeps obeying when it is unpopular. It keeps following when the path is painful.

Many people want Christianity without a cross. They want blessings without surrender, comfort without conviction, and heaven without holiness. But Jesus calls us to follow Him completely.

The Christian life is not lived in our own strength. We are weak, frail, and prone to fail. But the Lord entrusts His work to ordinary people who love Him and depend on Him.

The question remains: Do we love Him enough to follow Him when it costs?

Reflection

Where is Jesus asking you to deny yourself and follow Him more faithfully?

Prayer

Lord Jesus, help me take up my cross daily. Strengthen me when obedience is difficult. Teach me to love Thee more than ease, approval, or comfort. I need Thee every moment. Amen.

Action

Choose one act of obedience today that may be difficult but is right. Do it as an offering of love to Christ.
